Winter Wonderland!

Andrew and I were scheduled to fly up to Oregon this last Saturday evening getting in around 4:30pm but as we kept watching Oregon news and weather.com we started to get worried that we wouldn't make it at all if we waited that late. On Friday they were predicting that a new storm would hit around noon on Saturday with snow fall between 6-12 inches! So we changed our flight for the morning one getting in around 10am. I am SO glad we did!! We flew Alaskan and a few hours after we got in they started canceling flights. I really don't know if we would have made it otherwise. I know other parts of the country get snow like this normally but Oregon really does not which means when we do get snow the cities really aren't prepared to handle it. My parents picked us up from the airport and picked up my sister in Portland as well on our way back home. She was coming just for the weekend and was planning on getting a ride back up last night. So she only packed clothes for 24 hours! The weather has gone from bad to worse and her boss told her to not plan on coming in until after Christmas. So now she is stuck in Salem with only a few items of clothing and none of her Christmas presents! My dad could drive her up with chains too but as we check odot it seems like that may not be happening today since the roads look like this:

This was Sunday morning. All night Andrew and I heard crack and then crash as the ice just got too heavy for the branches and they started breaking off. Here they are moving the glass table out of the way in case more fell. My dad, brother, andrew, and my cousin josh spent a few hours outside with the chainsaw cleaning up the mess.

Poor, poor tree. so sad that it is loosing it's branches:(

Lucy ran around for a while and found the ice to be a lot of fun!
After a few hours of just hanging out at home and thinking of what we could do we decided to take a walk to the nearest safeway to get starbucks! So off we went on our icy adventure. Here are my mom and sister, so tough!
Me and my sweetie all bundled up! The snow is so beautiful and so peaceful.

This morning instead of waking up to ice we woke up to snow!! fresh fallen snow! So we let the pup out to run around and she is having so much fun!! I think she would stay out all day if I didn't make her come inside when I noticed her shivering.
One thing that I am super sad about with all of this snow is it means I didn't have a baby showers yesterday:( I am super sad that my friends Annie and Amanda put all the time and thought into planning and Amanda sent out beautiful invitations and then we didn't get to have it. It was going to be up in portland with mostly my college girlfriends and portland has been hit even harder!

So now I am snowed in with my honey, puppy and family and really couldn't ask to be anywhere else. Andrew is about to make some decaf coffee for us to drink and maybe we will watch a movie. I know everyone else in Oregon is so sick of it but since we just got here we are still enjoying it! Hopefully we don't loose power!

4 Year Anniversary!

Four years ago today I married my sweetie husband and every year I love him more and am more thankful that I married him!

This year to celebrate we went out to our tried and true romantic Piatti! We always love eating there and are never disappointed with our meal! I think we especially took our time and soaked in all the romance knowing this will be our last year to celebrate without having to think about things like babysitters! Andrew had mentioned to his dad earlier that day our plans to eat there to celebrate and when we got to Piatti our waiter told us his dad had called in and was covering our meal and to order whatever we want and try things we wouldn't normally try! Such a treat!

When Andrew called in to make our reservations they asked him if it was for a special occasion. I guess they are making fun menus for everything now! It doesn't show the date of our actual anniversary but it still makes you feel so special to have your menu personalized.
I am so thankful for who my husband is and how he loves me and our family and I can't imagine partnering in and walking through life with anyone else! We are both so excited about welcoming our baby girl this spring and the beautiful changes that will bring our family.

Christmas Cheer!

Last weekend we had a little Christmas party with all the Christmas treats! It was just a night to hang out and indulge in Christmas yummies and at the end of the night we watched the classic movie Home Alone!
Lots of yummy food!
Some of the party goers
Some yummy baby!

It was a lot of fun and I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I hadn't come down with a nasty cold a couple days before. Isn't that the downer of this time of the year?

Wedding, Reunion & the rest of the family fun!

I love weddings! We went to the beautiful wedding this last weekend of our family friend Andrea. Andrea's parents Dale and Carol founded the YWAM organization King's Kids, which is where my parents met! In fact my parents were part of the original King's Kids. We had a lot of fun this last weekend watching old videos of them! Ok back to the wedding pictures. The wedding was held at the beautiful Pasadena City Hall. (Funny side note: as I was looking through the pictures to decide which ones to upload we were watching Eli Stone and realized the City Hall building scene they show is the one in Pasadena!)

The super cute flower boys!
Vivi the adorable flower girl! Half way through she decided she didn't want to do it anymore because she didn't realize there were going to be people in the chairs! But then her friend Ivan, one of the flower boys ran back for her and she was ok walking the rest of the way. How cute is that!

The beautiful bride!

Worship time during the ceremony. All lit up at night!
Dancing a surprise hula for her new hubby!
The couples first dance amid a bounty of bubbles!

Our family!
The next day was a surprise 60th birthday party for Dale and Carol and also a King's Kids reunion of sorts. It was fun meeting my parents friends that they did King's Kids with and singing old songs that us kids sang as well during our short King's Kids stint!
Cutest little Elena walking around serving food to people while they sat and told stories.
Erika, Heather my mama and I! ( Heather is Elena's mama)
On Monday Andrew, Dan and my mama took Lucy out to dog beach. Now I wasn't there myself but it looks to me like Lucy is pack leader of these pups here all running around. She loves all dogs it doesn't matter the size to her!

The next day my family all flew home! It was so much fun having them here and just living life with them for a week! I am glad I can look forward to seeing them again in just a couple of weeks!

More Thankgiving Fun!

Our friend Ashley is living in San Diego now and going to cosmetology school so while my family was in town we had her over for dinner! This also gave her a chance to get to know Lucy so she could stay with her while we went to a wedding out of town after thanksgiving.
This was Andrew and I's first Thanksgiving we hosted! While we all pitched in my parents still did the turkey and most of the cooking. It is always fun to have an excuse to get out our china and I love our little Pilgrim and Indian turkeys!

Here we all are! I'm pretty sure we were all starving at this point!
Dan and Andrew both decided they needed to eat the drumsticks right off the bone this year.
We all wrote down and shared things we were most thankful for this year. Of course Andrew and I both wrote down our baby girl! How many people can you fit in an apartment kitchen??
After dinner Kelly and I baked up a storm and we went to our friends the Free's house for some yummy desert and hang out time!
On black Friday we braved the crowds and headed to Fashion Valley! We live really close by but we knew traffic and parking were going to be a nightmare so we opted to take the trolley! We found some great deals and tried to avoid the stores that were complete insanity!
Friday night our cousins Kyle and Alissa came down with Katelyn for dinner. We didn't take that many pictures but here is one of Katelyn checking out Lucy.

Where do I begin?

Well it has been a month since I have posted! Sometimes when it has been a while since I have posted I have so much catching up to do I don't know where to start. Andrew and I moved a couple of weekends ago unexpectedly. The building we were living in was not a dog approved building and so we had to move into a dog approved building. We had just a couple of weeks notice and I'm not going to lie, it was very stressful. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it packing, moving, and being pregnant and really I wouldn't have if we hadn't been blessed with so much help. Andrew's mom was sweet enough to fly down with a weeks notice and packed with Andrew while I worked. Also we had a lot of friends come over on moving day which was incredible! Seriously we would have been lost without all of that help! If you read this friends, thank you, thank you, thank you!!

One great thing about moving is it forces you to sort through things and get rid of stuff you don't need anymore. Oh and sometimes you find enough empty MAC cases to get a free lipstick! And EVERYTHING got dusted which I loved! But really if only I could have done all that without having to move!

So this week my family is here for thanksgiving and vacation! They flew in on Monday night and are staying through next Tuesday! It has been so fun having them here! I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday morning and my parents were able to come to the appointment and hear our baby's heartbeat! So special to share that with them!

We have been getting ready for thanksgiving, shopping, getting pedicures and just enjoying each other. Oh and opening cute baby presents! I will post some things later but a few items my mom gave me I wore myself as a baby and they are so cute!

This is Andrew and I opening the little outfit my dad bought our baby girl the day we found out our sweet babe was a girl!
At a super yummy sushi place downtown! Oh I can't wait until I can eat more than california rolls and miso soup! (my mom was taking this picture)We went to sunset cliffs today and took some family pictures! Here are my cute parents!
All of the girls! (One still in my tummy!)
Here we are at 26 weeks! or about 6 calendar months!
The whole family!

I am going to try to work backwards from here on what I remember.

For Halloween Andrew and I helped out at our church's harvest party! We ran a game booth in the little kids section and it was so cute to see all of the little kids!

There were tons of people there! Lots of blow up houses and games and rock climbing and live animals, it was quite the event!Well I looked back through my pictures and I guess that was it! We have pretty much just been packing and moving over here! Oh and growing! I have been doing lots of that! I absolutely LOVE feeling our baby girl move around! She loves to kick first thing in the morning, a lot in the afternoon and some before bedtime. I'm trying to talk her into keeping that schedule, think it will work? :)

Oh also for those of you who voted for my Grandma on AARP, thank you! She won!
