Beach Day!

It has been so stinkin' hot and humid down here! I checked weather.com and it has actually been more humid than Hawaii if you can believe that! So to escape the heat we went to the beach on Sunday!

Andrew is trying to get Audra started on surfing! And I got to go body boarding!!! Which I totally and completely LOVED!! The water was even pretty warm and I just love how it makes me feel like a kid again! The waves were so perfect for body boarding too!

Andrew took some pretty great pictures for having Audra in one arm and the camera in the other!
I'm looking forward to getting out there again! After all it is only July so there is lots of summer left!

Got them up!

Flower headbands are now in my shop!

http://jpalmer04.etsy.com

Take time to stop

and smell the flowers! :)

Well these flowers don't smell but they sure are cute! Thank you to Julie at Joy's Hope for posting this cute headband holder tutorial a while ago!

I don't know about all of your husbands but mine is not especially fond of the huge flower headbands. Most of the time though I just can not resist! In case your husband also is not a huge fan of the big flowers I have made these detachable (thanks to a little sewing and some Velcro)! You now have three options, you can either have a flower attached, wear it as just a headband, or tie on a ribbon! I do the third a lot just because it is an easy way to match any outfit but completely love that I can now just attach a flower if I want to! I will have more coming but I have six ready to go! $10 each.

1. Pink and white daisy on a pink crochet headband

2. Pink flower on a brown crochet headband

3. Pink flower on a white crochet headband
(a smaller version of the flower headband if you prefer)

4. Hot pink daisy on a black crochet headband
5. Pink flower on a white crochet headband
(I actually made two of these but couldn't part with both of them so I kept one for Audra!)

My multi talented hubby designed and created these business cards for me! If you have been to my shop lately you may have noticed a new banner across the top (which of course he also created for me). I really am working on making things prettier! I did have to fuzz out my phone number for the blog but didn't he do such a great job!

I guess I have not explained where the name came from yet either! Well Peaches Marie is a little nickname I have for Audra. I used to also call her Peaches Magee and Peaches McQueen but really Marie just stuck. I don't know why I love it but it just rolls off my tongue! I hope I don't completely confuse her about what her real name is since Marie is a real name just not hers!

Hopefully I will have everything in my shop soon! Although if you can't wait that long and I take too long getting them to my shop please leave a comment and I will set it aside for you!
Of course everything is pending my baby waking up from her nap or taking a good long sleep! :)

A few more goodies!

I had the privilege of attending a shower for two pretty mommies and their babies and wanted to share the burp cloth and wipes case sets I made for them!

One mommy is due with a baby boy and since her hubby is part of a band I thought the musical fabric was a perfect choice for her!

I just love this fabric so much for baby boys I am definitely going to make more sets like this!

The second mommy's hubby is also part of the same band but she is due with a baby girl and so of course I had to go pink!!
Ok and really I totally love this set too and plan on using this fabric again as well!

5 months!

I know I say this every time but really I can't believe that she is 5 months old now! She had a doctor appointment on Friday and she is now 13lbs 5oz and 24.5 inches long which puts her in the 20th percentile for weight and 30th percentile for height! I can't believe she has more than doubled her birth weight (not that that was a huge feat) and grown six inches! I looked back at my baby book and we are pretty similar growth wise. Audra started out smaller than me but by my 6th month appointment I was 14lbs and 25 inches. As you can also see she has gotten her first boo boo. :( She was in the jumperoo and bounced too much and bumped her chin. She really loves that thing and can spin herself around when she wants to move onto the next toy! She loves to roll from her tummy to her back and is starting to enjoy tummy time more scooting all over the place on her stomach! She hasn't quite mastered the arms and legs and head up at the same time thing but there is time for that! :) She has also discovered that she can squeal and is enjoying doing that very loudly now. I love watching her discover new things and am incredibly grateful that I get to be home with her to witness all her firsts!

New Additions!

I have added a new twist to the wipes clutch and I think they turned out pretty cute! Really still working on figuring this whole thing out!

Let me know if you have a certain theme or color that you would like and I can do my best to find fabric to fit what you are looking for!

These are all over in my shop now!

Cranberry Lemon Scones!

This has become a new favorite at our house! Andrew's aunt Kate had given us a bunch of yummy meyer lemons so I went looking for ways to use them and stumbled upon this recipe. I think part of why they turned out soo good is because meyer lemons are so sweet! I have made some changes but listed the original link if you are interested! I have added flax seed, taken out the walnuts and used a meyer lemon. I sneak flax seed into pretty much everything I bake because it is so good for you! Full of fiber and omega 3's! Also I put half of them in the freezer on the baking sheet so that when we want fresh ones we can just bake what we need. I do that with cookies too because if I bake them all we will eat them all trust me! ( I learned that trick from Andrew's mom.)

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

3 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon finely grated lemon peel

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup ground flax seed

¾ cup (1½ sticks) chilled unsalted butter, diced

1 cup dried sweetened cranberries

½ cup (or more) chilled half and half, divided

Position rack in top third of oven; preheat to 375°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk flour, baking powder, lemon peel, salt, flax seed and 1 cup sugar in large bowl. Add chilled butter; using fingertips, rub in until coarse meal forms. Mix in cranberries. Add ½ cup half and half and1 tablespoon lemon juice. Toss with fork until dough comes together in moist clumps, adding more half and half if dough is dry. Gather dough into ball; divide in half. Press out each half on floured surface to 6-inch-diameter (1-inch-high) round. Cut each round into 6 wedges. Transfer to baking sheet.

Bake scones until golden and tester comes out clean, about 18 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Coming along & Weekend fun!

Well we are coming along here! Paypal is now up and running which I think will make things a lot easier! Still working on figuring this whole etsy thing out!
Here is the link again:

Oh and I added a link on the side of my blog too!

We had a pretty busy weekend. On Friday afternoon we found out a friend was having a garage sale Saturday morning and we asked if we could crash it. We had loads of stuff to sell since we have been sorting things after our move. It was really rushed and disorganized though. Andrew ran to the bank just 10 minutes before they closed so we could have change, nothing was priced, we basically just laid things out on blankets and I was on the phone with my mom at 7:30 in the morning asking her what she would sell things for. I was super nervous because I had never had a garage sale without my mom or grandma! Really not the way I would have done things if I had the time to plan for it but really not being able to plan made it less of an ordeal in my mind. I probably would have just obsessed about planning for it and stressed about it for days but instead there was no time for that we just sort of went for it and made some money for just a few hours of work! It was great!

Audra was such a trooper during the garage sale too! She even took a couple of naps in her Bob in the shade.

It was a super hot day on Saturday too so we went to our neighbor's pool (Uncle Ray & Aunt Maralyn) and Audra got to swim for the first time!

She loved it!
Then she decided we were both done wearing our sunglasses. See mine floating in the water?? :)
Pool time wears a girl out!!
Looking forward to lots of days in the pool this summer! Since Audra is still pretty little for sunscreen we didn't go swimming until 6pm and only had her in the pool for a little bit but she loved it!!

We have been enjoying

eating outside every night for dinner! While we eat Audra sits and swings and talks and sucks on her fingers or her wrist! These are a few pictures I took after we were done eating.

Lately she has been using her left hand to push her wrist in her mouth. Poor baby's gums!
My little beauty.

She is such a happy little baby and makes us smile every day! She just keeps getting more and more fun!
