Wondering how it turned out?

Here is the finished product! Yummy! It almost looks like the picture on the front of the cookbook right? :)
Then just some picture fun with the puppy after work today because blogs are always more fun with pictures right!?
Isn't she such a little poser!

Hubby can cook!

Andrew and I got this book for our wedding from my Auntie Celia. We have made a few of the dishes but mostly the simpler ones. Well tonight my hubby offered to cook and decided to make the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi with chili coconut butter sauce, sesame potato cakes & sauteed spinach from this book! In fact it is the dish shown on the cover of the book. Fancy fancy right!? I am so impressed with my hubby! Since we live in San Diego we may as well take advantage of our easy access to fresh seafood as he went down to Point Loma to buy it today!

We have had a super relaxing weekend so far. Yesterday we cleaned and then had a bunch of friends over for a potluck BBQ and games! Sorry no pictures! I have been really awful about taking pictures lately! Then this morning we went to see the new Indiana Jones which I thought was great until the end! I won't give any details in case you haven't seen it yet! It definitely had me in suspense! We saw Prince Caspian last weekend and if you haven't seen it yet it is a must! I loved it! I love all of the parallels between Aslan and God like when Aslan tells Lucy that every year she gets older he gets bigger! I love that we can never outgrow God!

Oh I can't tell you how happy I am that I don't have work tomorrow!!! Such fabulousness!! I'm not sure what we will do exactly but whatever we do won't involve sitting in an office and staring at a computer and that's enough for me!

The hubs has his marathon next weekend and he has been training hard! I am so proud of him for deciding to do this! I can't imagine running that far! His parents are coming down for the weekend to support him along with his aunt and uncle from Redlands so it should be a lot of fun! My friend Kelly is running as well so she and her husband are staying with us the night before so they don't have to drive down from Carlsbad since it will be an early morning as it is! I'm glad Andrew will have a buddy to keep pace with during the marathon!

I hope everyone has a relaxing and wonderful rest of the memorial day weekend!

Mother's Day Weekend

Andrew and I drove up to Redlands this weekend to pick his mom up. She had been staying with his Uncle Bill and Aunt Sherrie to help with his cousin Laura's new baby.
Meet Ella Jean in all her four week old sleeping preciousness!
Andrew, his mom, and baby Ella. She is so tiny!
We drove back to San Diego that night and met Andrew's Uncle Bob and Aunt Kate for dinner at yummy Vigilucci's! The next morning we took Andrew's mom out to breakfast for a Happy Mother's Day!!

What will they come up with next?!

I am blissfully eating Dark Chocolate instead of Blueberries since according to Hershey Dark Chocolate is higher in antioxidants than Blueberries. :)

Kelly's Graduation Weekend!

I am back in San Diego from a week in Oregon! It has been a long time since I last blogged! A week always feels like such a good chunk of time when I am planning a trip home until I go and then it always feels so full! Not in a bad way but I do feel like I go with the best intentions to do a lot of things and see a lot of people and don't get around to it all of it! Even so it was so wonderful to spend so much time with my family and to catch up with the friends we were able to meet up with! I am going to be lazy again and in an attempt to share more pictures without filling up the whole page I am including another picasa link. So to see more click here! We flew in late on Friday night and then got up early on Saturday for Baccalaureate and then spend the day at George Fox going to open houses and then graduation itself. So proud of that sister of mine! On Sunday we had church, where I ran into my boss from the UPS Store where I worked off and on for five years believe it or not and then we had Kelly's graduation BBQ! The rest of the week flew by with meeting up with friends and babies, lunch at my Grandma's, shopping dates with my mom and sister, coffee with Grandma, Mom, and Kelly, a girls movie night to watch 27 dresses, and before I knew it I was packing my bags to fly back already!
This weekend we are driving up to meet Andrew's cousin's brand new baby and picking up his mom who is spending the weekend with us! I am hoping I can start blogging more now that things may slow down a little!
This Sunday is mother's day! We are taking Andrew's mom out for breakfast and mailing my mama a little surprise! :) Do any of you have mother's day traditions or fun ideas to celebrate?
