Oh snuggles!

I thought it was time for a lighter post after all of last weeks fire news. I love what a snuggle girl Lucy is! I just couldn't resist posting these pictures! This is of course post hyper morning time full of attempts at pulling down all my clean laundry from my dresser as I try to sleep in on Saturday.

Map of Fire

I don't know about you but unless I can see something it's hard for me to picture where it is! Here is the best Map I have found. It is updated by KPBS so it should be current. Andrew and I were hoping to meet up with family tonight for dinner up at Disneyland but I don't think we will be able to go as I5 north is closed at the moment:( We are still safe and mostly just feeling the effects of smokey air (cough cough)! Oh an update on Andrew, his school is cancelled until Monday now due to the poor quality of air. Someone at my work said they saw a man walking with a mask on however he had to move it down every so often so he could smoke his cigarette. How is that for concern of smoke inhalation!

Fire continues . . .

Andrew and I are still here in San Diego and have opted not to evacuate as we are feeling safe. They are still sending most evacuees to Qualcomm right near our apartment which makes me feel safer too. As the day wore on I noticed more lifted evacuations than evacuation notices on the news. The fires is still raging however it seems many of the communities that were once threatened seem to be out of danger. The wind has died down some which greatly contributes to all of the above. Here are some pictures of our day at home. Andrew ran out for an hour this afternoon to meet his group from school. School is canceled for him through tomorrow and for the San Diego county until Monday.

Lucy has been sticking extra close today. . . must be some puppy intuition.

Fire

I don't know what news people are getting but we are having devastating fires in San Diego county right now. If you think of it and can pray for Andrew and I that we don't have to evacuate and for all the people who have lost their homes, belongings and pets. Here is a link to updated coverage:
Wildfires 2007

Here is a map of where the fires originated. Looking at the map Andrew and I live at the I-8 and I-15 intersection. They have shut down the I-15 freeway up to about 10 miles north of us.

We are near Qualcomm and in the Mission Valley area. Andrew's school has been canceled until further notice. Depending on what the fires look like tomorrow I may not go into work. In which case we have talked about volunteering wherever we can. Andrew wants to go fight the fire himself which is why we have talked about volunteering tomorrow. So we don't sit around feeling useless!

Lucy Rings the Bell!

Lucy has been so good about learning how to ring the bell to go outside! Well especially when she wants to steal bark chips to bring inside! But she is learning none the less!

Here is a clip from right before of me encouraging her to ring it and she is tilting her head back and forth trying to figure out what I'm saying! HAHA oh well!

Weekend Fun!

It was so great being able to hang out with my hubby this whole weekend! I know it won't be long until school is monopolizing all his free time so I am enjoying every minute! We got up on Saturday and ran errands and went on a hike at Torrey Pines before we had friends over for a night of celebrating fall and hanging out. We decorated pumpkins, baked fall cookies and had a potluck dinner that was like early Thanksgiving with all the yummy food we shared! Here are some pictures . . .

Where oh where did my puppy dog go . . .

Now if ever I can't find Lucy I look under the guest bed. That has become her new favorite place to hide. I think because it stays darker and quieter in that room. What is funny is that she doesn't lay on the carpet, which is soft and would be my first choice, she lays on the plastic cover for my down duvet! Ha ha she cracks me up!

A few of my favorite things . . . .

Lucy snuggled up in her bed while Andrew and I watch tv last night:) She was actually sleeping just before this picture but Andrew and I woke her up because she was making noises like she was having a little puppy nightmare!
